Now the longest-established bookseller in Oxford, the Bookshop has four floors exclusively dedicated to OUP’s publishing. The Bookshop stocks more than 65,000 books, with thousands more available from our UK and global warehouses, and through the Print on Demand programme. The Bookshop is no ordinary bookseller—it is a thriving and yet peaceful place to discover the hidden depths of one of the world’s most influential publishers.

Oxford University Press (OUP) is a department of the University of Oxford and has been printing books since 1478—just two years after William Caxton brought the first printing press to England. Bearing a rich and textured history, OUP has expanded from its roots in fifteenth-century biblical commentaries to a global output of more than six-thousand titles each year. Today, OUP is the largest University Press in the world, and publishes dictionaries, English language teaching materials, children’s books, journals, scholarly monographs, higher education textbooks, and schoolbooks.
